Donna Gentry, president of Daviess County Right to Life from 1995-2006, is remembered as a woman who made a difference in the lives of many through her tireless efforts in the community. During her lifetime, Donna helped countless women faced with unplanned pregnancies, founding the Pregnancy Care Center in Washington to serve as a beacon of hope to women and an alternative to abortion. More than 20 years later, this organization is still in existence as First Choice Solutions, a medical clinic in Washington’s west end that provides pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, STI testing and treatment, as well as education and assistance to families.
In January 2011, Daviess County Right to Life honored Donna Gentry with a monument erected at the Daviess County Chamber of Commerce Plaza on Main Street in Washington. During the ceremony, Donna suffered a massive stroke and was rushed to the hospital. Five days later, she passed away.
Donna is remembered for her persistent work for the pro-life cause, through Daviess County Right to Life and the Pregnancy Care Center. Donna’s legacy lives on today through the many lives she touched.
