Dr. Grant Clark - Former Abrotionist - Main Speaker

2010 speaker 1

Shown above is Dr. Grant Clark who now lives in rural Pennsylvania as he addresses the large crowd in attendance at the Annual Right To Life Banquet on Thursday night at the Simon J. Graber Building. Dr. Clark spoke of how he was taken in by Planned Parenthood's propaganda that abortion would be good for women. After years of performing abortions in California and seeing how it effected women he started to have doubts. As he began to read the bible and looked more into what abortion was doing to his patients he stopped doing abortions. Dr. Clark stated the he had killed many little babies and he only hopes that God will forgive him for this.

He has tried to make amends in his life but nothing will take away from his conscious the lives that he has taken before they ever had a chance to be born. The Doctor also explained how many of the forms of Birth Control that were given out did nothing more than cause a women to abort her child before it had a chance in the womb. Since his conversion to the Pro-Life Movement, Dr. Clark speaks to groups sharing his testimony about the lies and impact of abortion.  The large crowd in attendance  were very attentive to what he had to say. After he spoke, the President of the Right To Life Louis Kavanaugh Jr. spoke of how Dr. Clark had not asked or accepted a speaker fee for his talk that evening as he said he has a lot to make up for. This was the 37th Annual Right To Life Banquet which has recently been expanded to include Martin and Pike Counties. In the first year of the Banquet in November 1977 the group attracted about 30-40 members and now attendance in some years it is over 600 as one of the largest Pro-Life Banquets outside of Evansville. Before they adopted Jenna, the LeTourneau's had several opportunities to adopt but each time it fell through causing them to be very discouraged. About the time they were ready to give up, they were able to adopt Jenna.

Louis Kavanaugh Jr., while making the presentation, stated that Right To Life has for many years tried to push "Adoption not Abortion" as they try to encourage young mothers who may be in an unplanned pregnancy to consider adoption instead of abortion. It is estimated that for each child that comes up for adoption there may be 15 or more couples already cleared for this one child. Kavanaugh stated the Right To Life will continue to spread the word of Adoption. Picture by Liz Kavanaugh
